Public Transportation
from Shannon Airport
Bus & Taxi
There is a non-stop bus service from Shannon Airport to Galway City, with four daily departures each way, with services linking key flight arrival and departure times at Shannon Airport, including customers travelling on transatlantic morning flights.
The X51 Expressway service will operate non-stop from Shannon Airport to Galway city at 1:15 AM, 4:15 AM, 7:15 AM and 10:30 PM. All customers must book ahead at www.expressway.ie
The return service from Galway Bus Station to Shannon Airport departing at 12:00 AM, 2:45 AM, 5:45 AM and 9:00 PM.
From Galway city, you can take a taxi to Ashford Castle (app. 1 hour travel time) with an estimated cost of €80 - €120 each way.
